Desktop installation

This page will guide you in installing TORO Integrate directly1 on your macOS, Linux, or Windows machine. To get started, you must first download the installer.

Hardware and software requirements

Make sure to have TORO Integrate's prerequisites covered for seamless installation.

Coder

To create and manage integrations, you will need Coder in addition to TORO Integrate. Coder is TORO Integrate's integration IDE and is available as a desktop application or web application.

Fresh installation

If you've never installed TORO Integrate before or would like to do a clean install of TORO Integrate, then follow the steps under the respective section of your machine's OS.

Trial version

You can run the Desktop Edition on trial mode with no cost for a certain amount of time.

To install TORO Integrate on your macOS machine, you must:

  1. Download the TORO Integrate installer for macOS.
  2. Mount the downloaded TORO Integrate disk image file (TORO_Integrate_Desktop-3.x.x) by double clicking on it.
  3. Launch the installation wizard by double-clicking on TORO Integrate Installer, seen in the mounted folder.
  4. Follow the installation procedures in the wizard.

And that's it, you have successfully installed TORO Integrate on your macOS machine. Double-click TORO Integrate from your dock or desktop (if you have chosen to create a shortcut) to launch the application.

To install TORO Integrate on your Linux machine, you must:

  1. Download the TORO Integrate installer for Linux.
  2. Using a command-line application, cd into the directory where the TORO_Integrate_Desktop-[version]_unix64.sh shell executable file is located.
  3. Use the following command to open the setup wizard:

    sh TORO_Integrate_Desktop-[version]_unix64.sh -c
    
  4. Follow the installation procedures.

After following through the wizard's instructions, you should now have TORO Integrate successfully installed. If you're in UI mode, double click TORO Integrate from your chosen installation directory to launch the application. Otherwise, cd into your chosen installation directory then run TORO Integrate to launch the application.

To install TORO Integrate on your Windows machine, follow the steps below:

  1. Download the TORO Integrate installer for Windows (available in x86 or x64).
  2. Open the executable installer file to launch the TORO Integrate setup wizard.
  3. Follow the installation procedures in the wizard.

After successfully installing TORO Integrate, you can double-click TORO Integrate from your chosen installation directory or its desktop shorcut if you have chosen to create a shortcut to launch the application.

Updating an existing installation

To update an existing installation using the installer:

  1. Download the new version of the TORO Integrate installer for your operating system.
  2. Open the downloaded executable file and launch the TORO Integrate setup wizard using the same procedures described in the fresh installation instructions.
  3. Follow the installation procedures in the wizard.

Overwriting files

The wizard will ask you if you would like to have the following files be overwritten or not:

  • data/override.properties
  • data/remote-servers.properties
  • conf/properties/toro-integrate.properties (prompt only appears if file has been modified)
  • conf/ESBGroovyCompilerConfig.groovy (prompt only appears if file has been modified)
  • conf/log4j.properties (prompt only appears if file has been modified)

Launching the application

The Desktop Edition of TORO Integrate provides a native launcher for all supported operating systems. To start, stop, or restart TORO Integrate using the launcher, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the executable launcher located at <toro-integrate-home>.

  2. Once started, the launcher gives you the option to start, restart, or stop TORO Integrate. You can even start TORO Integrate in debug mode using the Debug Mode checkbox.
