Database connection pool status

A database connection's status indicates the current state of the database connection. It is manually set by starting or stopping a database connection. Certain actions would only be available on certain states; for example, you may configure the properties of a database connection only if it stopped.

Status types

The following are the different possible connection statuses:

  • STARTED

Indicates that there is an established connection between TORO Integrate and the database. Connectivity is required if any of your integrations need to use the database. A database connection with this status is shown with a green visual indicator in the UI.

  • STOPPED

Indicates that there is no established connection between TORO Integrate and the database. A database connection with this status is shown with a red visual indicator in the UI.

Configuration

To start or stop a database connection, follow the steps below:

Starting multiple database connections

Starting a database connection

Right click on the database connection pool and then click Start or Stop from the context menu. In Coder Studio, you can start or stop multiple database connections at a time by selecting several ones - press the key whilst left clicking on connections - before right clicking.

Uou'll know that a database connection pool has been started when you see a green circle at the corner of the database icon; stopped when it has a red circle instead.

Starting multiple database connections

Select Connections > Databases from the main menu to view the list of database connection pools.

Now that you are shown the list, select the database connections you want to start or stop and then click the Start or Stop button on the action bar at the top to start or stop them respectively.

You'll be able to check the status of a database connection using the Status column; a green check means the connection is running while a red square indicates that the connection has been stopped.

Disabling auto start

When TORO Integrate starts, it will start up all Integrate packages, Integrate endpoints, and database connections unless set not to. To disable this behavior in database connections, they must be configured such that their Auto Start property is set to false or is unchecked in the form.
